The three readings of today refer to the Eucharist as the sacrifice of the New Covenant. To receive the Eucharist in faith, it is not enough to believe that Jesus is really present in it but also have a disposition to translate into our lives the gestures of love and fidelity of Christ. The Eucharist must be understood as the food of the community. The bread is broken among the believers, because the sign of the new humanity born from the resurrection of Christ is the community. The blood of the New Covenant, says the Gospel of today, has been shed for many... this means shed for all. Therefore, every person has the right to be accepted into the community. In front of the Eucharist, every person is equal and invited to enter into communion with Christ.
