THE POWER OF GOD IS MANIFESTED THROUGH WEAKNESS
The first reading describes the vocation of the prophet Ezekiel. He was a simple man, like any other common mortal man. What he did was not due to his ability, but to the force of the word of God that he communicated faithfully. The second reading is even clearer: Paul states that the power of God always manifests itself through weak instruments. The Gospel shows the reactions of the people of Nazareth because they failed to understand the ways of God, and therefore could not recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Jesus does not impose his salvation, he offers it. To receive it, therefore, we must have faith in him; we must believe that the power and victory of God come to us even through our weakness.

THANK YOU from Sherie Croft: I would like to share our good news! My latest CT Scan shows continued improvement - without active medical treatment! Healing is happening! There are never 'guarantees', of course, but I feel very well, have good energy and we are all optimistic and trust in a 'future full of hope'. I have been struck by how often the scriptures speak of God's 'steadfast love' - the love that guides us, comforts us and gives hope. This love is made visible, real in your continued prayers and support, and I believe has led me to the understanding and complimentary therapies that together with the medical treatment have so helped. We are very grateful to all of you. Thank you. Love...Sherie Croft.
